Bird admissions are slowing and many of our feathered friends are winging their way South for the winter. The long journey puts birds at additional risk and many of the current admissions are a result of window collisions, or other migration related injuries to birds that are passing through. We also still have some late-summer patients that have grown and are almost ready for release, including the Common Loon described below.
Our staff and volunteers have shifted gears and are now busily organizing events and fundraisers to help support our programs next year. You can learn more about the different ways to support our work with wild birds in the upcoming newsletters as well as on our Facebook page.
We look forward to staying in touch,
Susan
