Les martinets ramoneurs font partie des oiseaux les plus difficiles \u00e0 r\u00e9habiliter. Leur bec d\u00e9licat, leurs pattes et leurs plumes sont facilement endommag\u00e9es, et m\u00eame des blessures l\u00e9g\u00e8res peuvent emp\u00eacher leur remise en libert\u00e9 dans la nature.<\/p>\n

Ces remarquables acrobates a\u00e9riens passent presque toute leur vie en vol \u00e0 attraper des insectes, \u00e0 boire, \u00e0 se baigner et m\u00eame \u00e0 se reposer. Aujourd\u2019hui, ils comptent surtout sur les chemin\u00e9es pour nicher et se percher pour la nuit.<\/p>\n

Pr\u00e9sentement Le Nichoir soigne une couv\u00e9e de neuf jeunes martinets ramoneurs venant de Drummondville. La personne qui les a apport\u00e9s au centre a fait cinq heures de route aller-retour. Ces oiseaux sont nourris d\u2019insectes toutes les 30 \u00e0 60 minutes, 15 heures par jour. Lorsque leur plumage sera complet, ils seront mis dans la voli\u00e8re ext\u00e9rieure, \u00e9quip\u00e9e d\u2019une chemin\u00e9e artificielle, pour pratiquer leur vol et se percher, avant d\u2019\u00eatre rel\u00e2ch\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

Les martinets ramoneurs sont class\u00e9s comme\u00a0menac\u00e9s<\/strong>\u00a0au Qu\u00e9bec. Prot\u00e9ger les chemin\u00e9es propices \u00e0 la nidification est l\u2019une des meilleures fa\u00e7ons d\u2019aider cette esp\u00e8ce remarquable.<\/p>\n
