Avian detectives: the direct and indirect impacts of humans on wild birds
This is an in-class 2-part, curriculum that is meant for teachers in grades 4 and 5. Students will learn about human impacts on wild birds and how to prevent them. Using real-life cases of injured birds received at Le Nichoir, students will become avian detectives in the first lesson by examining case studies and determining the causes of injuries. In the second lesson, students will learn about the indirect impacts of humans on wild birds by learning about 3 declining species in Quebec.
