KioskPublic education plays a key role in Le Nichoir’s mission of wild bird conservation. Over the past year, the Centre has made an effort to double its participation in educational events and activities, and increase its off-site educational component. Some of these events have included Nature Canada’s Bird Fair in Ottawa, CWF’s Walk for Wildlife in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, and CCFA’s Grande Fête des Oiseaux in Montreal.

At each event, the Centre has a kiosk with an interactive educational table featuring plenty of advice and information, plus tips on identifying wild birds in the backyard. The kiosk also offers a variety of educational tools, such as taxidermy, wing specimens and nests, along with bird-friendly merchandise for sale.

Keep an eye out for Le Nichoir at these upcoming events:

The Canada Day celebration at Thompson Park in Hudson, Monday, July 1
The Beaconsfield Pet Fair, Saturday, September 7
La fête des oiseaux migrateurs in Danville, October 12-14.
