Le Nichoir’s biologists regularly receive requests for training from other licensed wildlife centres, governmental agencies and animal shelters. Because of this, our team is launching a new training course called Introduction to Avian Wildlife Care and Conservation: A training course for wildlife professionals. The course is composed of four modules:
i) Mitigating human-wildlife interactions
ii) Capture/transport
iii) Initial care
iv) Wildlife rehabilitation
Partially funded by the Animal Welfare Foundation of Canada (AWFC), the goal of the Introduction to Avian Wildlife Care and Conservation training is to offer a bilingual course to support other professionals working with wildlife to share information and network. This will help ensure that scientifically based standard operating procedures and best practices that prioritize animal welfare are used.
A proof of license will be requested to attend this course.
