The new year was celebrated by the arrival of our first patient—a Mourning Dove with an infected wing injury. Now treated with antibiotics and wound management, our expectation is that she will make a speedy recovery and soon be released.

Mourning Doves are known for their gentle cooing and strong pair bonds, and as a symbol of peace and affection. This year, as we proudly celebrate Le Nichoir’s 30th anniversary, our first patient provides a meaningful start and sets the tone for an important year ahead. The past three decades featured dedicated care for more than 50,000 bird admissions, a determined and sustained commitment to wildlife conservation, and longstanding support from our community. We look forward to building on this success in 2026 and to sharing our anniversary year with you through a series of events highlighting our work and its positive impact on our environment.
