A historic barn was Le Nichoir’s home for its first twenty years, a period of learning and growing that helped shape who we are today.

Since the opening of the Conservation Centre in 2016, the barn has remained empty, continuing to age and raising safety concerns. Professional assessments confirmed that more than $500,000 would be required to bring the barn up to building code standards.

After careful consideration and consultation with the Town of Hudson, the Board of Directors made the difficult decision to have the barn demolished, not only eliminating safety concerns but also freeing up valuable space for future development. Now gone, the barn will continue to be proudly remembered and honoured in Le Nichoir’s future site plans.
