Can I donate a metal cage to Le Nichoir?
Le Nichoir does not accept donations of metal cages because we only use mesh cages to house wild birds. Because wild birds are stressed in captivity, metal cages can cause injuries from birds hitting the sides of the cages, getting their wings or legs stuck in the bars and more. Le Nichoir suggests donating metal cages to local animal shelters or mammal wildlife rehabilitators.
