A true community effort by chefs and merchants makes Le Nichoir’s fundraiser on April 2nd a must!
A Taste of Hudson promises to satisfy your palate by indulging in a variety of culinary creations prepared by this region’s chefs. This fundraiser plays a vital role in raising money for Le Nichoir Wild Bird Conservation Centre, Quebec’s only rehabilitation centre specialized in the care of songbirds and aquatic birds.
Chefs will show their talent by preparing signature dishes they are most known for. Keep your eye out for chef Claudia Portaro from Claudia’s Catering, Stuart Le Baron of LeBaron Bites, Keith Wells of Mackoli Catering, The team of L’artisan de la mer, Patricia Hovington of Minus 40 Foods, Dave Warner of Auberge Willow, Dawn Hodes of Daboom! Desserts, Brûlerie Totem and Jean-Pierre Martel of Terroir Hudson Ice Cream. Each one of our 115 lucky guests will also be treated with a little something from La Maison du Défricheur.
Because of the generosity of the chefs, volunteers, sponsors, and C&C Packing the entire event ticket price will benefit Le Nichoir. Le Nichoir is known far and wide for its auction tables! Businesses and individuals have come together once again to make sure A Taste of Hudson guests have an eclectic mix of great items to bid on throughout the evening. Some items to keep your eye out for are a weekend getaway in Mont Tremblant and a trip with VIA Rail. Michael Lawrence and Robin Pridham of Pridham’s Auction House are teaming up to ensure the success of the live auction and Breakfast Television’s Elias Makos will pull it all together as the evening’s Master of Ceremonies.
Susan Wylie, Executive Director of Le Nichoir explains, “This year’s A Taste of Hudson is especially important as it celebrates Le Nichoir’s 20th anniversary and the construction of the new Wild Bird Conservation Centre. This is no small feat and being able to share this special occasion with our supporters is important to us. A Taste of Hudson is our most important fundraiser which supports Le Nichoir’s two programs; providing professional and compassionate care to the over 1500 birds brought to the Centre each season and the delivery of a growing environmental education program for children. With the enormous amount of help Le Nichoir has received organizing this event it is guaranteed to be a hit!”
