The song of a male Northern Cardinal is a sure sign of spring, signaling the start of the breeding season as he calls to attract a mate or defend his territory. As the seasons shift, Le Nichoir’s team is preparing for our peak season, the very busy months ahead.

This winter’s heavy snowstorms and frigid temperatures led to the admission of several emaciated mallards suffering from frostbite. Thirteen mallards spent much of the winter in our care, requiring dedicated volunteer support to help with their recovery.  Now, with the arrival of milder temperatures, all have been successfully released.
